As we become more established in the Greater Springfield community, more people are visiting our services and seeking to find out about the church and its ministries. Some questions get asked more than others, so we hope this little list is helpful if you are one of those checking us out right now...
Q. What denomination are you?
A. We are part of the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches of Australia.
Q. Are you part of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network?
Q. Where do you guys meet for your services?
A. We meet in our building at the Spring Lake Village shopping centre, at 31 Springfield Lakes Boulevard, Springfield Lakes. There is plenty of parking in the shopping centre carpark, and we are within walking distance of the Springfield train station.
Q. Is your building air-conditioned?
Q. What do you do with kids during your services?
A. We have DC Kids for primary aged and pre-school children, and a staffed Creche for those who are younger than school age. These activities run during the sermon time at the 10am service. There is also a Mothers' Room for Mums with nursing babies.
Q. How do people get involved?
A. Easy - just come along one Sunday, or get in touch and we'll arrange to meet up with you.
Q. Are your church services modern or traditional?
A. Our music is modern and our services are fairly informal, but there is order and structure to them with an emphasis on hearing from God’s Word. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month, and encourage a time of social interaction after each service over a cup of coffee.
Q. Does it matter if I don't live in the Greater Springfield area?
A. It kind of does. We encourage all our people to be involved in a Missional Community Group and when you live more than 30 minutes drive away, it just makes it hard to be involved mid-week. We've had a few people try it - with very good intentions - but the distance does take its toll.
