Our ministry for high-schoolers, helping them navigate the exciting and challenging teenage years.
Our youth ministry at DC has two objectives: 1. That teenagers come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord, and 2. That teens who have professed faith in Christ will be totally transformed by God's grace as they follow Jesus. With these two objectives in mind, DC Youth seeks to proclaim the Gospel to all teenagers (whether they come from a church family or not), and to help Christian teens grow in faith and maturity.
CLUB is a monthly event dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to teenagers. CLUB runs on the first Friday of every month (7pm - 8:30pm) during school terms. It is an energetic program designed to engage youth and present them with the truths of the Gospel. If you have teenagers, we would encourage you to involve them in CLUB.
4Real is what we call our follow-up ministry to high school students. What’s with the name? The name 4Real signifies four identities we believe are important for a young person who is progressing on the journey of faith: discipleship, nurture, accountability, and mission. We want our high schoolers not only to live out their identity in Christ, and to interact with the Bible in practical ways, but also to live on mission for what God has called them to. 4Real happens on Friday nights during school terms (except for CLUB nights).
Madbeats is our name for a music mentor program run by our Worship Collective team for High Schoolers interested in refining and developing their musical skills. This happens once a term and is a feeder program for our general music ministry.
Summer Camp happens every year during the January school holidays on the beautiful Sunshine Coast at the Luther Heights Youth Camp. It's designed for teenagers who want to spend some holiday time "on retreat," studying God's Word and enjoying the good things of God's creation at the same time.
Emu Gully Camp
Our ambition is to hold a youth camp every year during the September School holidays at the well-known Emu Gully Adventure Camp at Hellidon (near Toowoomba). The idea of this camp is to stretch you physically and spiritually. Campers would participate in the high energy program by day, and experience a dynamic presentation of the Gospel each evening. This action packed camp for all high schoolers is designed to introduce them to the Good News of Jesus. We hope to introduce this camp into our youth ministry portfolio in the near future.
Your Child's Safety
Disciples Church uses the ChildSafe Risk Management system to ensure that our people and our activities are appropriate and approved. Security is a priority in all our ministry activities involving teenagers. They are checked at the beginning and end of every ministry event through an electronic identification system intended to ensure their safety.
