Attempting to Flee
Topic: Old Testament Scripture: Jonah 1:1–1:16
There are times when running away from a problem is a wise thing to do. Other times it is better to face it. Sometimes it seems like a good idea, but it is actually very foolish. This was the case with the prophet Jonah who, when given a message he didn't want to proclaim, runs away from the Lord.
Certainly, this was a flawed plan, and Jonah would have known that - so, why did he do it? What caused him to flee and rebel against the God he served?
As we start a new series looking at the Book of Jonah, we will see great displays of God's power as He pursues this runaway prophet and carries out His plan, despite the sinfulness of the messenger.
