How do I Join?

Joining a church can feel overwhelming, so we’ve made it simple. Here’s how we help you move from your first visit into real community.

What does community look like?

At Disciples Church, community is all about Jesus. We gather to behold him, become like him, and reflect him to the people around us.

This makes following Jesus less of a box to tick and more of a way of life, where discipleship, care, and outreach aren’t just talked about but lived out together.

We call our communities Missional Community Groups (MCGs), and we’ll explain the “why” behind that later. For now, it’s enough to know that our community groups are simply followers of Jesus… following Jesus together.

WHERE TO BEGIN

1. Fill out a Connect Form

It’s the simplest starting point and will take 30 seconds. No mailing lists, no data sharing. It just gives us a way to get in touch and say hello.

2. Join Newcomers

Newcomers is the best community to start with. It’s run by our pastors each term, straight after church on Sundays, and runs for several weeks. It’s a relaxed space with a small group of people where you can hear our story, ask questions, and get a feel for the heart of our church.

3. Become a Member

Once you have attended the Newcomers Sessions, you will be able to apply for membership. Membership can sound daunting, but it's a simply a way to say, “This is my church family.” It's also how we commit to care for you. Membership is voluntary, free and you can resign at any time.

THEN WHAT?

Once you’re a member, you can begin participating in the ministry and rhythms that shape our church family, including;

  • Join a Community Group – we’ll help match you to a Missional Community Group.

  • Begin Discipleship – smaller groups of 2–4 for deeper growth.

  • Serve on a Team – contribute your gifts to build up the church.

  • Give to the Kingdom – partner with gospel ministry through gospel generosity.
