This Sunday, we see that Cain’s murder of Abel does not simply mark a moral failure, but reveals his true allegiance. By rejecting his brother, Cain proves himself to be seed of the serpent. But through Jesus, the true seed of the woman, God establishes a new family, showing that children of God are not defined by birth, status, or claim, but by being born again and bearing the fruit of love.
