Production Team Responsibilities
The Production Team manage the technical elements of the service from AV to sound and lighting. Below is a detailed breakdown of the responsibilities for each team member...
AV Operator
Sound Operator
Lighting Operator
Technical Manager
AV Operator
- During the week, the AV operator will need to set up the computer and prepare the screen content remotely. This includes sermon slides, song lyrics, pre/post slides, communion verses and ministry spot content.
- once we move to the cinema, Matt Gardiner will set up the content through the week until we all are settled with the new space. We will communicate more about the pre-service set up once we set up a workflow for the AV volunteers to do this. - Due to the limited set up and pack down schedule, the AV operator will need to be well prepared and be able to set up and pack down quickly. For any queries on how to do this, speak to the Technical Manager.
- Play Pre/Post background playlist
- Play the Communion background playlist.
- Communicate with the Band Leader regarding lyric slide order issues.
- Operate ProPresenter during the service.
- Some issues that might arise during the service will require the AV operator to;
- Handle lyric automation failures
- Reconnect disconnected iPad
- Restart ProPresenter if it crashes
- Adjust incorrect content or add missing content. This needs to happen as soon as possible. Contact the person organising that part of the service to source the missing slides/videos (Preacher, Ministry Spot leader, etc.).
- The AV operator role does not interact much with the congregation, but any complaints they receive should be sent to the head of department or the Worship Service Director for resolution.
Sound Operator
- Set up the stage, equipment, and instruments before the service
- Facilitate the sound equipment for rehearsal and sound check pre-service
- Provide microphones for those that require it (Ministry Host, Prayer Leader, Communion Leader etc).
- Operate the sound levels and mix during the service
- Cue and set levels for Pre/Post service, as well as Communion background music.
- Some issues that might arise during the service will require the Sound operator to;
- Fix any faulty equipment (batteries, disconnections etc)
- Ensure all seating areas can hear appropriately (not too loud or too soft)
- Take feedback from either congregation or other team leaders. Any complaints can be directed to the Worship Service Director.
Lighting Operator
- Set up the lighting equipment.
- Test and select lighting stages during sound check / rehearsal.
- Operate lighting equipment during the service, ensuring smooth transitions between content
- Some issues that might arise during the service will require the Sound operator to;
- Faulty lighting - check connections
- Software crashes (restart the program/console)
Technical Manager
- The Technical Manager is not scheduled on, but is available when they are around to support and train the production team as needed. All technical issues should be reported to the Technical Manager or Worship Leader
